A worker at McDonald’s in Brazil has successfully sued the company for giving him free food during his employment, on the grounds that it made him fat and unhappy. The unnamed franchise manager put on four stone during his 12-year career at the fast food giant, which he blamed on the free meals and on feeling obliged to taste all the food daily to ensure quality. The man was awarded $17,500 (around £10,000) after a judge found in his favour. McDonald’s is appealing the ruling.
