Poundstretcher has appointed five former senior executives from Peacocks, the retailer that went into administration in January, including Amanda Williams as HR director. Williams was with Peacocks for a number of years as HR officer, HR manager and most recently HR controller. Other appointments include Roy Ellis as finance director, Neil Burns as chief operating officer, director of retail Chris Miles and Glen Taylor whose title is yet to be confirmed.
Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei) has appointed Yasmin Ahmed in the newly created role of member engagement and learning manager. Ahmed joins enei from The Hyde Group where she was group head of diversity and inclusion. Prior to this, she worked for the London Borough of Lambeth as project consultant on policy, equality and performance. Thomas White has been appointed group head of HR for Zurich Insurance Group. White joined the company from Zurich’s subsidiary Farmers Group, Inc. three years ago as president and chief executive officer of Farmers New World Life. White is currently chief executive and representative officer for Zurich in Japan, and will take up his new post in September.
Waypoint Capital Holdings (Jersey) Limited, has announced the appointment of Richard Fuller as group HR director. Fuller has over 20 years’ HR experience including HR director at Smith & Williamson Investment Management, and prior to that, director of HR at Threadneedle Investments. Former Office Angels managing director, David Clubb, has joined Deverell Smith Recruitment as chief operating officer. Clubb spent 15 years with the Adecco Group, including five on the board as the managing director of Office Angels.
