Stephanie Bird - Director of HR Capability. Stephanie joined the CIPD as director of HR capability in April 2009. Stephanie was also a Non-Executive Director of CIPD Enterprises Ltd from 2007 until she joined the CIPD. She brings a wealth of experience from her extensive career in Human Resources.
Her most recent role was as Vice President of HR at BP plc, responsible for Talent & Organisation Capability for the group. She previously held senior HR roles at ICI, Dell Corporation and KPMG and also ran her own HR consultancy.
She holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Chemistry from Liverpool University and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

Julie Clapham - Julie is the Director for HR Transformation & Organisational Effectiveness at BT.
Julie is responsible for developing the People Strategy for BT, the OD practice and leading the transformation of the HR function towards its vision of becoming “People experts at the heart of change.” She is also responsible for improvements to the HR transactional service delivered through third parties and systems. Julie’s early BT career started in Sales and Marketing.

Sue Swanborough - Sue, a science graduate, has worked in a number of FMCG businesses, including Boots plc, Mars and more recently General Mills, one of the fastest growing food companies in the market.
During her career she has moved cross- functionally through R&D, supply chain, logistics and manufacturing before joining HR. She has held a number of generalist and specialist roles covering the full spectrum of HR. Her passion and expertise lies in cultural and leadership development through building trust to deliver excellent business results.

Jeremy Swain – Jeremy is Chief Executive of Thames Reach, a voluntary sector organisation, that works every year with more than 4,000 rough sleepers and other vulnerable homeless people in London. providing a range of services to help them. In 2008 Thames Reach was selected as one of the top 100 medium-size organisations in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work for Awards.
Jeremy started work in the homelessness sector in 1980, moving to Thames Reach in 1984 where he spent four years as a street outreach worker before progressing to Housing Services Manager and then Chief Executive of Thames Reach in 2001.
Apart from being a London Housing Foundation Board member, he is also a non-executive Director of StreetShine, a social business employing former homeless people to provide a shoe care service to corporate businesses. He chairs the Pan-London Providers’ Group comprising the Chief Executives of seven of the largest providers of homelessness services in London, is an active member of ACEVO (the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations) and sits on the Business Action on Homelessness London Steering Group.
