Public policy affects the everyday working lives of HR professionals in a number of ways including employment law, regulation or voluntary codes of practice. And as the HR policy implications of the Government’s work-life balance and ageism legislation show; it is incumbent on the CIPD, in concert with its members, to represent the public policy interests of the HR community.
What can the CIPD and the HR community do to influence public policy?
The CIPD’s team of policy specialists produces in-depth and independent research, based on the views of its members that aims to provide practical solutions to workplace regulation and legislation.
And with over 127,500 members with specialist knowledge and vast experience of implementing employment legislation and change, the CIPD is establishing/has established specialist groups to help influence the policy framework in the interests of people management and development professionals.
