About Advanced level qualifications


CIPD's Advanced level qualifications are ideal for those aspiring to become effective HR practitioners - whether working as managers or consultants in generalist or specialist roles. Set at a postgraduate level, CIPD Advanced level qualifications will develop your understanding of organisations and the changing external context within which HR operates.

Using critical analysis, self-reflection and problem solving techniques, you will learn how to develop and implement creative and strategic HR solutions that drive organisational performance. 

The CIPD Advanced qualifications provide you with a professionally recognised qualification, plus our Advanced diplomas provide the underpinning knowledge towards CIPD professional membership (Associate, Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow).

About Intermediate level qualifications

CIPD's new Intermediate level qualifications are designed for those who:

  • aspire to work in HR and want to study a recognised undergraduate level qualification
  • work in a HR support role and want to progress their career by developing their knowledge and skills at a higher level.

Set at undergraduate level, our Intermediate qualifications will develop your ability to evaluate the effectiveness of different HR models and practices, and increase the understanding of the external factors that impact upon HR activities and organisations. Whilst building expertise in your chosen HR specialist subjects, you will also develop your planning, analytical and problem solving skills.

CIPD Intermediate certificates and diplomas provide a professionally recognised qualification and the knowledge towards CIPD Associate professional membership.

About Foundation level qualifications

CIPD's Foundation level qualifications are perfect if you want to acquire a wide range of relevant practical skills in HR and development. You can choose to follow a HR or L&D pathway and you also have the opportunity to study individual foundation level awards to either start or top up your HR and L&D knowledge.
