About the Advanced diploma in Human Resources Management

The diploma takes between two to two and half years to complete if studied on a part-time basis. This may vary if you choose a full-time, block, supported distance learning or mixed mode programme. 

Who is the Advanced diploma in Human Resource Management suitable for?

  • Those who have the responsibilty for Human Resource (HR) decision making within an organisation at either operational, tactical or more strategic level.

  • Are HR professionals in a team or HR functional management role, who are seeking to enhance and develop their career.

  • Have responsibilities for the HR function and activities within an organisation without a specialist function.

  • Are independent or employed consultants who support organisations in meeting their goals.

What does the Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management cover?

  • The Advanced level diploma in Human Resource Management amounts to 120 credits (FHEQ).

  • Choose 8 modules - 4 core modules, plus 4 optional modules. Optional choice must include 3 modules from group A and a maximum 1 module from group B.

1. Human Resource Management in Context (15 credits)
2. Leading, Managing and Developing People (15 credits)
3. Developing Skills for Business Leadership (15 credits)
4. Investigating a business issue from an Human Resources Perspective (15 credits)

Optional modules (group A) - choose at least three


1. Organisation design and organisation development (15  credits)
2. Leadership and Management Development (15 credits)
3. Resourcing and Talent Management (15 credits)
4. Performance Management (15 credits)
5. Reward Management (15 credits)
6. Managing Employment Relations (15 credits) 
7. Employment Law (15 credits)
8. Employee Engagement (15 credits

Optional modules (group B) - choose one

1. Learning and Talent Development (15 credits)
2. Designing, Delivering and Evaluating Learning and Development Provision (15  credits)
