2012 Absence Management Survey

In partnership with Simplyhealth

"With well-being strategies and absence
management being high on the agenda for
government, there is still more to do; over a
quarter of businesses still do not have a wellbeing
strategy in place. It’s our mission to help
individuals, families, employers and the wider
community manage their health.”

Survey results from the
2012 Absence Management Survey found
that the average level of employee absence
has fallen compared with last year from
7.7 days to 6.8 per employee per year.

However, the fall in absence levels coincides
with almost a third of employers reporting
an increase in the number of people going
into work ill. The threat of redundancies and
concerns over job security are shown to
contribute to such ‘presenteeism’.
