Employer branding

  • We have a new interactive tool designed to help HR practitioners and other professionals involved in developing or implementing an employer brand. It includes practical guidance, self-assessment questionnaires, action checklists, and sources of further information.
  • In October 2007 we published Employer branding: a no-nonsense approach. This report provides clear guidance and frameworks for how HR practitioners can develop and define an employer brand and then communicate it to both potential and existing employees.

It includes case studies illustrating practically how a variety of organisations have used their employee brand to attract, retain and/or engage both potential and existing employees.
  • In July 2007 we published  Employer branding: the latest fad or the future for HR?,  a collection of essays from leaders in the field on what they believe is the future of employer branding and the HR function. Each has provided a personal and professional perspective.
  • A joint publication with the DTI and Best Companies, Achieving best practice in your business: high performance work practices - linking strategy and skills to performance outcomes, was published in February 2005. It includes a survey of CIPD members and case studies from a sample of companies from the Sunday Times 100 best companies to work for 2004.
  • Our 2003 report Branding and People Management: What's in a Name? is no longer in print, but a summary is available to view. CIPD members can also borrow the report from our Library.
