CIPD research on general employee relations issues

  • In January 2008 we published Managing Conflict at Work: A guide for line managers. This identifies the behaviours that will help line manages identify and manage proactively disputes at work. And it describes the people managment skills managers need so they don't become part of the problem rather than the solution.

In January 2007 we reported on a survey which looked at how conflict is managed in the workplace.

  • We published a new tool Tackling Bullying at Work in April 2007. This will help managers develop a positive climate at work and identify the key issues that need to e addressed.

  • Our new guide Tackling Fraud and Dishonesty: Managing and mitigating the risks aims to raise awareness of the potential threat posed by staff fraud, and to provide examples of generic best practice for employers.
  • Research published in May 2006 investigated HR's role in managing risk and involved interviews with HR, risk managers and accountants.
  • Our 2005 employment law survey looked at how legislation impacts on organisations, employment practice and behaviour in the workplace.
  •  Bullying at work: beyond policies to a culture of respect published in 2005 provides practical guidance for employers for dealing more effectively with the issue.
  • In October 2004 we published research into HR as a business partner. This follows on from our 2003 survey into the state of HR.
