The CIPD commissioned Cranfield School of Management to undertake a research project on human resource management and technology.
The focus of the research was on three main themes where technology is seen to have a significant impact:
- the efficient delivery and support of HR activity and process
- employee communications and engagement
- the resulting impact on the changing roles and skills for HR and other managers.
The research involved detailed case studies. In June 2006 an interim report was published drawing on the findings so far. This includes a case study on Cancer Research UK.
The final research report was published in February 2007. Details are available from the CIPD bookstore.
CIPD members can now access a practical tool based on the research with Cranfield School of Management: Technology in HR: how to get the most out of technology in people management was launched in June 2007
We are looking to continue our research in this area. If you have any suggestions or views please contact us.
