Talent management

The talent perspective: what does it feel like to be talent-managed?

Existing research on talent management focuses predominantly on the employer’s perspective. This latest research looks at the views of employees who are experiencing talent management.

Opening up talent for business success

Our report explores the extent to which organisations are integrating talent management and diversity.

Managing talent in uncertain times

Our research into how talent management strategies are being influenced by the economic downturn explored the following questions, among others, through an online survey supported by interviews with various stakeholders.

  • Have approaches to talent management been affected by the current economic uncertainty?
  • Have organisations adopted innovative approaches to managing talent when margins are tight?
  • Have tighter margins led to an increased focus on measurement, evaluation and ROI?
  • Are there opportunities to recruit talent discarded by competitors?
  • Are organisations adopting a long-term or short-term focus on talent?

Part 1 of the report on this research, The war on talent? Talent management under threat in uncertain times, was published in February 2009, outlining the findings from our survey.

Part 2, Fighting back through talent innovation: talent management under threat in uncertain times, was published in July 2009, highlighting creative approaches in 10 organisations.
