This paper provides advice and guidance on how to deal with cancer and cancer-related issues in the workplace. It is produced as a result of a collaboration between Cancerbackup, the CIPD, and the Working with Cancer (WwC) group.
It includes:
- guidance on dealing with the issues arising at different stages of the illness
- a cancer policy template
- summary of the Working with Cancer survey published in October 2006 which examined how far workplace employment policies were meeting the needs of those affected by cancer.
The guidelines are the first of a series proposed to offer help and guidance to the different groups affected by cancer at work.
