Presents an overview of two major issues relating to the UK's relationship with the European Union: the euro and the European system of employment regulation and social protection known as Social Europe.
Looks at the economics of the euro, drawing on the recent Treasury assessment of the Government's five tests for UK membership and examines Social Europe both in relation to the UK and other member states and within the context of European enlargement.
