This discussion paper, launched at a joint CIPD and Acas event held on 11 June 2009 called Resilience through recession, draws on joint research and sets out the evidence for the importance of good people management.
The paper identifies the key people management competencies needed by line managers for high-performing workplaces and lists them under the following headings:
- managing work now and in the future
- managing the team
- managing the individual
- managing conflict and difficult situations
- managing yourself.
