Draws on the existing literature, discussions with HR specialists and consultants, and exploratory discussions with case study organisations. The work is part of a larger ongoing research project on talent management.

- the key challenges faced by organisations in their approach to talent management
- how talent management and succession planning policies are linked to overall business strategy and areas of corporate governance
- the measures of success/critical success factors
- how to 'operationalise' talent management and succession planning initiatives.
