Preparing participants to observe

Overview

Last Published  01 August 2012

When a course contains role-play exercises, the non-role-players observe and give feedback. To do this successfully they need to not only listen to what is being said but also to listen for tone of voice, speed of speaking and sub-verbal clues. As well as doing all this they also need to watch the body language of the role-players. This is a great deal to take in all at once, so this tool prepares them for this.

Tool aim
  • To prime the participants to listen and observe at the same time.
