We put off doing something, usually quite knowingly, but often pretend to ourselves that there's a good reason for doing so. If you deliberately delay a job because of a valid reason, that is not procrastination. That's good planning and good time management. We are procrastinating when we put off for later, or maybe even indefinitely, something that we should be doing now.
