The benefits of delegation

This tool dispels any lingering doubts that new managers may have about the wisdom of delegating tasks, by exploring the benefits of delegation to managers, individuals and organisations. If managers do not perceive the benefits of delegating work, they will not look for opportunities to do it, nor find the time to make it happen. So this tool sets out the benefits to all parties of effective delegation. Note the significant presence of the word 'effective' - just dumping unpleasant or mundane aspects of a manager's work on staff who are incapable or demotivated does not count as delegation.
