Agreeing objectives and standards

Managers are frequently required to agree objectives with their staff. Where objectives are poorly written or inappropriate, they do little to improve performance and may even have a detrimental effect. They also make performance more difficult to assess. In this tool, participants will learn when and how to set objectives and when to set standards.
