CIPD Foundation Level Qualifications

We are now able to offer the new CIPD foundation level qualifications in-house. These qualifications are ideal for professionals wishing to acquire a wide range of relevant practical skills, and who wish to further develop their career and gain professional recognition in their chosen field. Choose from:

  • The CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice (CHRP) replaces the Certificate in Personnel Practice or CPP.
  • The CIPD Certificate in Learning and Development Practice (CLDP) replaces the Certificate in Training Practice or CTP.

Both qualifications will give learners the knowledge and confidence to increase their effectiveness in their day to day role. They are designed to be very practical and build on existing HR and L&D skills so learners can immediately apply what they have learned to their current HR or L&D role.

Successful completion also forms part of the requirements for Associate membership of the CIPD. By ensuring your people complete a CIPD qualification with us, you can be confident that they have the necessary skills, knowledge and professionalism required to excel in their work in HR or L&D, leading to the improved performance of your HR and L&D teams.

How to complete the qualifications

Both foundation certificates are made up of a number of modules. You must acquire 28 credits from these modules in order to complete either certificate.

To acquire 28 credits you must take the core modules which will give you 10 credits and choose 18 credits from the optional modules. You may take 6 credits from the other pathway as part of your optional modules.

If you wish to study for a diploma, you require 37 credits in total, 10 credits from the core modules and 27 credits from the optional modules.

Study requirements

In addition to the ten face-to-face workshop days, you will also be required to undertake assessments and other self-directed learning for every module you have chosen.

During the programme you will have personal tutor support to help you through what you need to know and do. There is also a virtual learning environment (VLE) dedicated to your certificate group to give you links to additional resources and an opportunity to share ideas and learning with your tutor and other members of your group.

Delivery options

All these qualifications are delivered on an in-house basis, a cost and time effective way of delivering learning to a group of people.

We can also offer flexibility as to the method in which modules are delivered. For example depending on the selected modules they could be delivered in five groups of two days, or in two groups of five days.

Before beginning the programme, we will need to agree which optional modules are to be taken for the group as a whole.

Next steps

To set up your own in-house certificate programme, first you will need to speak to one of our advisors. We will then work with you to design a programme around your precise needs.
