Recent years have seen a shift from training to learning, with more emphasis on learning and development solutions rather than training events. And the systematic training cycle of needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation is applied to an increasingly wide range of learning and development solutions.

Technology has also radically changed the learning methods available to learning and development practitioners and yet the principles of planning, design and learning still apply to alternative learning and development solutions such as e-learning and blended learning, as do the methods and approaches to assessment and evaluation of learning.

The CIPD Advanced Certificate in Designing and Delivering Learning is a blended learning programme comprising a unique combination of face-to-face workshops, online activities, interactive and independent learning. The online activities, toolkits and tasks are based on a case study and in your learning set you will work through tasks in your role as a learning and development practitioner.

Who is it for?

This Advanced Certificate is suitable for senior L&D practitioners who are actively involved in designing and delivering a range of learning and development solutions. It is also suitable for external L&D consultants involved in designing and delivering bespoke learning interventions to clients.

How long does it take?

The Certificate programme is designed to be completed over a 20 week* period culminating in CIPD's national examination in either May or November. The three, one-day face-to-face workshops take place over the first 10 weeks of the programme with online case study activities being undertaken after each workshop. The second 10 weeks include assignment preparation and submission, attendance at the revision day and examination preparation.
