1) Who is the Certificate aimed at?

This Advanced Certificate is suitable for senior L&D practitioners who are actively involved in designing and delivering a range of learning and development solutions. It is also suitable for external L&D consultants involved in designing and delivering bespoke learning interventions to clients.

2) How can I use what I learn back at work?

On completion of the Certificate, you will be able to:

• establish an effective learning and development team
• work in partnership with others on monitoring, evaluating and continuously improving learning events
• analyse client learning needs at all organisational levels
• identify key stakeholders in the L&D process
• handle the tensions involved in stakeholder relationships
• agree measures of success for learning initiatives
• differentiate between behavioural and standards approaches to competency frameworks
• use competency frameworks to identify learning and development needs
• assess the contribution of competency frameworks to the performance management process.

3) What is the format?

• attend the three, one-day face-to-face workshops
• complete online case study activities within learning sets
• successfully complete a skills based assignment
• successfully complete a written assignment
• attend the revision day
• pass the CIPD's national examination
• maintain a personal development portfolio that demonstrates a satisfactory level of learning and development.

4) How long will it take?

The Certificate takes 20 weeks to complete. You have a maximum of one year to complete the requirements of the programme.

5) Does the Certificate lead to CIPD membership?

No, the Certificate does not lead to membership of the CIPD.
