1. Who is the Certificate aimed at?

The Certificate is invaluable for those who wish to increase their understanding of the process of organisational development and its underlying theories and practices. Individuals who will benefit include those who are: HR directors, learning and development specialists, internal/external consultants and anyone with responsibility for the OD function.

2. How can I use what I learn back at work?

On completion of the programme, you will be able to:

• define what organisational development is and how the theories and concepts can be applied within your organisation
• understand the nature of planned change, and the role of the OD practitioner
• consider the needs and perspectives of relevant stakeholders
• address underlying causal factors rather than settle for superficial fixes
• identify the best strategy to use in the process of OD, from entering and contracting to institutionalising OD interventions
• advise on the redesign of organizational structures and work processes
• be reflective and aware of your own internal experience and interaction patterns, as these may support your effectiveness with client groups
• act with awareness of the social and ethical dimensions of your work.

3. What is the format?

To be awarded the Post-graduate Certificate, you must:

• attend the 5 days of classroom training
• complete two reflection papers of 1000-1500 words each
• complete a final Certificate paper of 3000-3500 words
• actively take part in the Internet discussion groups
• complete the self-assessment questionnaire
• complete 5 hours of telephone coaching with their personal coach.

4. How long will it take?

The Certificate takes nine months to complete. You have a maximum of one year to complete the requirements of the programme.

5. Does the Certificate lead to CIPD membership?

No, the Certificate does not lead to membership of the CIPD.

6. How much does the programme cost?

CIPD members: £4,300.00 + £752.50 VAT
Non-members: £4,780.00 + £836.50 VAT
