Mr Colin Smith
LLB Hons, Diploma Legal Practice, Member of Employment Lawyers Association, Non Practising Solicitor.

Colin Smith is Senior Employment Law Consultant for Outset UK, a Legal and
People Management consultancy.

Colin started his legal career in private practice in 1999 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001 and has specialised in employment law ever since.

He has worked with Outset since its creation in 2003, working with a number of clients, principally medium to large corporate organisations employing from 500 to 10,000 employees and in a variety of sectors advising on an extensive range of employment law and industrial relations issues.

Colin has significant expertise in all areas of employment law including executive level matters, employment contracts, dismissals and disciplinary issues, TUPE, termination packages and compromised exits, redundancy law, process design and implementation, trade union relations, discrimination law and advocacy in the Employment Tribunal.

Colin also has extensive insight into the legal and HR issues involved in business sales and restructures including the practical implications and application of TUPE.

Colin has presented and lectured on a variety of employment law topics for professional bodies and direct to clients including the CIPD, Legal Training TV and Business Link.

Nick Evans has worked for many years as a solicitor specialising in employment law, in senior public sector roles and private practice. He is now Legal Operations Director of HR and Legal Services consultants Outset, advising leading organisations on employment law.
