Mr Sanjiv Ahluwalia
Sanjiv Ahluwalia LLM (Employment Law) LLB (Hons) is a practising solicitor. Sanjiv has held positions in private practice and local government, and spent five years in the oil industry working as a legal adviser to two major oil companies. He was Legal and Commercial Adviser at the Federation of Recruitment and Employment Services (now known as REC - a trade association for the recruitment industry) and subsequently worked as Associate Director of Employment Law Services for the JSB Group.

Sanjiv is an experienced lecturer, trainer and consultant in employment law and has written widely on legal issues of practical interest and importance to HR specialists, line managers and lay people generally. He is the legal editor of the CIPD's Performance and Wellness Manual.

Sanjiv has undertaken work for the Free Representation Unit and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.

Sanjiv runs his own practice, providing a consultancy service to a wide range of clients. He has acted for employees and employers in cases involving various employment issues.
Mr Derek Eccleston
Derek Eccleston is an experienced, practical consultant, specialising in the provision of advice and training on employment law and employee relations.

He has spent over 20 years in senior HR roles in three different industries - local government, engineering and financial services – before joining the Employment Law team at Needham and James, Solicitors. This has given Derek an in-depth knowledge of employment law and its practical impact on the day to day running of businesses.

Derek is an experienced presenter, running a wide range of open workshops and in-company training events as well as speaking at conferences and seminars on employment law.

He is a Fellow of the CIPD and a Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is a Personal Tutor for the Advanced Certificate in Employment Law programme.

Derek completed a Masters Degree in Law and Employment Relations with Leicester University in 2000 and he is also the author of the HRM Toolkit, a training product published by Gee Publishing.
Mrs Antonia McAlindin
Antonia McAlindin, BA, LLM is a qualified barrister, specialising in labour law. She lectures regularly on employment law issues at colleges, universities, to local authorities, and professional bodies. She is past Chair of both the CIPD Scottish Partnership and the Women's Legal Defence Fund Scotland. Antonia is a board member of a Further Education College, a former member of the CIPD's national committees on Employment Relations and Equal Opportunities, and a current member of its Employment Relations Panel.

Carolyn Carrington Chartered FCIPD is an experienced employment law trainer who specialises in the design and delivery of training courses on practical aspects of employment law. She also has extensive HR management and employee relations experience, gained mainly in the media sector.
