About the Course

Recommended for:

Whether you are a proprietor, line manager within a small business, or self employed and planning to grow your business, the HR for Small Businesses course is absolutely essential for you if you want a robust grounding in all the key HR areas to ensure you manage people effectively and comply with the law.

Course overview:

Employees in any business are typically the most significant business cost. Therefore, like any resource, they require careful proactive management. Good HR practice and effective people management leads directly to engaged and motivated employees which, in turn, impacts on productivity, the bottom line and subsequent business growth. Moreover, the financial and reputational risk to businesses, of any size, of failure to comply with employment law is potentially huge.

HR for Small Businesses is made up of two, one-day courses that will provide essential knowledge, practical advice and a ‘toolkit’ for small businesses without an existing personnel or HR function. They will help you understand how to move from informal personnel practice to a more formalised and legally compliant set of HR policies and procedures. With a series of practical and relevant case studies, both courses explain key HR jargon in lay person’s terms.
