New team leaders, supervisors and first-line managers have around 100 days to make an impact. Getting up to speed with your new role and the expectations of different organisational stakeholders can be a daunting prospect. One of the most challenging aspects lies in making the personal transition from team member to team leader. Running an effective operation through the efforts of other people – rather than doing it yourself – is a significant issue for many.
Our Management Essentials comprises two programmes:
- The Essentials of Team Leadership
- The Essentials of Management
and have been developed to enable new team leaders and managers to get off to a great start. Those who are a little more established in their roles will also benefit by reviewing their personal approach – providing them with a skills and confidence boost, as well as access to leading-edge resources.
Who is it for?
The Essentials of Management has been designed for anyone who is about to move into a first line-management role. It is also suitable for those with a little more experience who would like to refresh their learning. The emphasis is on shifting the focus from task-based routines to the more complex challenges involved in effective people management and development. Covering issues such as how you prioritise, delegate, motivate, coach and manage performance, The Essentials of Management provides a platform on which to build experience and learn the new skill sets required for flexibility in the role.
How long does it take to complete?
You will have nine months in which to attend the core and optional modules.
