Organisational Design

Recommended for:

HR practitioners, line managers, internal and external HR and organisational development consultants.

Course overview:

Organisational design – is it re-organising, restructuring, or change management in disguise? Recurring and continuous organisational change faces all businesses if they are to maintain or increase productivity, performance, and profit. Sometimes circumstances require transforming the entire enterprise and at other times significant change at the business unit, divisional, functional, facility or local levels is indicated. The problem lies in knowing what needs to change, how to change it and when is the best time for change. In this programme participants will work with a variety of practical models, approaches, and tools learning the principles and applications of organisational design.

Course benefits:

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • list the features and benefits of the various models of organisational design
  • decide whether your business issue merits organisational design work and determine the sequence and approaches
  • apply various tools and techniques to make informed organisation design decisions
  • present the case for organisational design programme governance
  • assess the consequences and risks
  • address the blockers and challenges
