Postgraduate Certificate in Career and Talent Management

*

Developing people’s careers and talents is vital to the success of organisations and the fulfilment of individuals. In a work environment where change is the only constant, career management has increased in complexity.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Career and Talent Management addresses the multi-faceted context of contemporary work and career. This provides tools to inform both career management strategy within organisations and face-to-face work with individuals. It will show how active career and talent management offers opportunities to improve performance of people and organisations, and sets out how this can be optimised against a background of fast change.

The Certificate is validated by the University of Surrey as 60 CATS points at Postgraduate level. Please note that completion of this Certificate does not lead to CIPD membership.

Who is it for?

The Postgraduate Certificate in Career and Talent Management is intended for HR generalists as well as career and talent management specialists, coaches and consultants. It is ideal for anyone working in personnel, HR, coaching or mentoring who wants to develop their career management knowledge and skills. Skills gained can be used for personal career development, within an organisation or as the basis for running a career development agency.

This Postgraduate Certificate provides a theoretical background, guidelines on best practice and skills development in organisational development processes, all from a psychological perspective . You will have a chance to assess your own OD skills and practise them during the course of the programme.

One of the strengths of CIPD’s programmes is that they attract people working in the private, public and voluntary sectors. The mix of different backgrounds adds to the learning experience, gives a broader perspective and enables you to network with your peers in different organisations.

All learners must be graduates or the equivalent thereof to gain access to this Postgraduate Certificate.

How long does it take to complete?

The Certificate takes twelve months to complete. You have a maximum of one year to complete the requirements of the programme.

How do I gain the certificate?

To be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate, students must:

  • attend the six days of classroom training
  • complete four assignments of 5,000 words each
  • actively take part in the online discussions and group activities
  • complete the self-assessment tool and a CPD journal
