Day 2

Succession planning

  • manpower planning through to succession planning

Occupational and group issues

  • job training analysis and task analysis
  • systems, processes, procedures, criteria checklists
  • interviewing and fact-finding
  • changing patterns of work
  • occupational and professional development needs (competencies and standards)
  • use of focus groups.

Day 3

Occupational and group issues continued


  • practical experience of preparing for and participating in focus groups

Individual issues

  • use of performance reviews
  • assessment by self, 360-degree, joint
  • employability, marketability, individual development

Planning to meet the training need

  • ways of meeting the needs and constructing training plans
  • gaining support and commitment to the plan

Action planning.
