Managers, supervisors, team leaders and other specialists whose job involves delivering one-to-one and small group training in addition to their line or specialist functions.

Many aspects of work are best explained in the workplace and some aspects can only be trained in the workplace. Managers, supervisors, team leaders and specialists are thrown into the task of helping others to learn a job with little guidance on how to do it effectively. This workshop is aimed at helping workplace trainers approach this key area with confidence.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

• tell when it is appropriate to use on-the-job training
• use a structured approach to plan and carry out a short training session
• select and use suitable support material, learning and performance aids
• apply basic feedback, assessment and evaluation techniques during and after the session to check understanding and to determine results achieved
