If you're starting out your career in HR or L&D, or looking for the next step up the career ladder, our range of introductory and foundation level qualifications are guaranteed to give you a great head start. They will give you recognition, credibility and expertise in your chosen subject area.

Introductory level

The introductory qualifications below are equivalent to level 2 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for England and Wales.

Introductory level

Certificate in HR Administration
If you are new to the HR function and want to be a more effective member of the HR team, this introductory level qualification is for you. Successful completion leads to an ITEC level 2 Certificate in Human Resources Administration.

Certificate in Training Administration
If you are new to the learning and development function, this introductory level qualification will give you an understanding of how learning and development can support the achievement of corporate goals. Successful completion leads to an ITEC level 2 Certificate in Training Administration.

Introductory Certificate in Project Management
This qualification is accredited by the Association of Project Management, and will enable you to take an active part in and make a positive contribution to a project team.

Foundation level

CIPD Certificate in HR Practice (CHRP)
This qualification programme provides a firm foundation in all areas of HR. It is ideal for practitioners looking to develop essential HR skills and the confidence to add value to the HR function. This certificate replaces the CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP). 

You can do the CHRP by CIPD Flexible Learning+, the enhanced flexible learning programme from CIPD Enterprises, exclusively delivered by MOL, or you can do it through a fast track route with CIPD Training.

CIPD Foundation Award in Resourcing Talent
Gain the knowledge and skills to contribute to the resourcing and talent planning process, including understanding the factors that affect an organisation's talent planning, recruitment and selection policy, identifying appropriate recruitment and selection methods, contributing to the interviewing process and understanding the importance of effective induction.

NEW CIPD Foundation Award in Employment Law
This programme provides an introduction to employment law and explores the influence of employment legislation and the legal requirements crucial to the effective management of the employment relationship.

NEW CIPD Foundation Award in Understanding Organisations and the Role of HR
Gain an understanding of how HR activities support an organisation’s strategy and assist the achievement of business objectives, and how these are shaped by internal and external factors.

NEW CIPD Foundation Award in Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis
Develop the knowledge and skills to contribute to the process of job analysis, including, interpreting and presenting results obtained and making recommendations based on your findings.

NEW CIPD Foundation Award in Supporting Change in Organisations
Develop an understanding of change concepts, the different ways of managing change and the implications for the HR function. And, explore how individuals respond to change in different ways and how this manifests itself in variable behaviours.

NEW CIPD Foundation Award in Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward Management
Develop an understanding of how motivational theories and associated tools can be used within the context of performance and reward management, and how these can have a positive impact on an organisation’s business objectives.

CIPD Certificate in L&D Practice (CLDP)
This programme provides you with an in-depth and thorough grounding in the learning cycle and the fundamentals of learning and development. It is ideal for practitioners looking to acquire a means of professional recognition in the field of learning and development. This certificate replaces the Certificate in Training Practice (or CTP).

Certificate in Blended Learning
This programme takes an in-depth look at how to design effective online learning materials, introduces the opportunities presented by virtual classrooms, and addresses the issues involved in implementing blended learning solutions. It is ideal for those with a responsibility for commissioning, designing, developing or implementing learning solutions.

Foundation Certificate in Organisational Coaching
Designed and run in collaboration with coaching and mentoring specialists, The OCM (formerly the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring), to help you develop core coaching and mentoring skills. It's ideal for HR and L&D professionals who wish to build an appropriate level of coaching skills and knowledge to enable them to provide effective coaching as part of their day-to-day role.

CIPD Foundation Award in Undertaking a Learning Needs Analysis
This qualification programme uses a highly practical approach to provide you with the knowledge to identify learning needs at organisational, group or individual level.

CIPD Foundation Award in Evaluating L&D Activities 
This qualification provides an introduction to the principles, purposes and scope of evaluation within a learning and development context and incorporates the concept of return on investment (ROI).

CIPD Foundation Award in Preparing and Designing L&D Activities 
This qualification facilitates an exploration of current theories and concepts to allow you to develop a sound basis for preparing and designing impactful learning and development activities.

CIPD Foundation Award in Delivering L&D Practice
Successful completion of this qualification will help you to recognise the factors that impact learning, choose appropriate delivery methods, encourage transfer of learning and evaluate the effectiveness of inputs.
