Thinking of an example from your context or experience, in what ways can working inclusively improve an organisation or working environment?

  • Working inclusively: 

    • Improve Individual's contribution towards a better, efficient and effective output to add value to organization objectives.
    • Brings multiple talents together and a best alternative can be created.
    • Makes employees more fulfilling in their work
    • Give wider range of options for problems / issues for the organization
    • Due to wider range of perceptions all opportunities and risks can be identified at earlier stage to keep organization agile to changing business environments.

    I like to think also that ideally, individuals who experience the benefits of diversity in an organisation who move on, then advocate for & influence pushing diversity in the organisation they move to
    1. build your awareness of the issues faced by particular groups in the organisation.
    2. being approachable and quite open about the fact you have shortcomings.
    3. having key performance indicators that incorporate inclusion and committing to inclusion and diversity as a business driver

    I agree with these points! It can also help to keep senior management on their toes and constantly looking for ways to ensure inclusivity can shape their own agendas.
  • The greater innovation that can come from inclusion can lead to an increased range of ideas, approaches, processes and methodologies. By utilising these unique but valuable perspectives on a given situation, you're more able to spot potential problems, to draw on solutions which you wouldn't normally have access to, and adapt a wider reaching good-practice approach.
