Introduction - Ireland

Hi everyone,

I've been living in Cork for almost four years, am currently working in a non L&D role for a large outsource local industry and last month I started a course to get a CIPD certification in L&D management. I am very delighted and confident that this is the right start to boost my career. I have worked as a Training project manager for three years when I was in Italy and after a long time I took into consideration the idea of getting a proper certification to make my expertise more official and, foremost, to get brand new skills and awareness of my goals. I missed the CIPD student event last month and I would be very delighted to know whether there are other upcoming network events here in Ireland some time soon. I do look forward to spending some time to network and sharing ideas and knowledge, hopefully in person.

I wish best of luck to all those looking for new challenges and those facing new ones every day.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me.

  • Hi Eloise,

Delighted you are studying for your CIPD certification! We have very many events throughout the year in Ireland. The best way to stay informed of everything CIPD Ireland is to sign up to our newsletter, which you can do by logging on to our homepage (cipd.ie) and scrolling down below the fold.

The next big national event we have is the annual conference in Croke Park on 22 May. David Ulrich is our keynote speaker. We also have a number of regional committees, including the Southern Region. The best thing to do is to introduce yourself to the team there by emailing southernevents@cipd.ie and also see www.cipd.ie/.../southern.

Welcome to CIPD Ireland, and looking forward to meeting you in person soon!

Grand place altogether! I lived just outside of Schull in West Cork for ten years...

    Hi Marianne,
Thank you for getting back to me.
To be honest, it is quite hard to catch up with this Community, but networking is one of my CPD activities and I am delighted to do my very best to touch base with everyone. I welcome your suggestion and really look forward to meeting you in person too!
    Best,
    Eloise
  • In reply to David Perry:

    Hi David,
    Lovely to meet you.
I think I don't know where Schull is, but it must be a great spot as being in West Cork. I will keep it in mind for my next getaway. :)

Hi Eloise... how so? Can I help?

  • In reply to Steve Bridger:

    Hi Steve,
    Thanks for your help.
I think it is just a question of spare time for me. Moreover, it would be lovely to set up some Rss Feed or similar to be up to date. I'm afraid I don't see them, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong place. Any suggestion is more than welcome.
    Thanks again,
    Eloise
