  • RE: Reason to Believe Dishonest Employee

For me it would depend on how good an employee they are usually, what the usual policy is for bereavement leave (if there is one) and possible reasons why someone would lie.

e.g. in one of my last employers it was policy that only blood relatives and…

I like that analogy, and so fitting for the All Lives Matter brigade!

Using the fire analogy here in a HR context looking to develop an enhanced sickness policy to support those who need it most, I'd consider asking the fire service, once they have sorted…

Agreed (I think, I've not actually seen that outlined anywhere but would agree with this, I used the term elective because as I say it is accepted now that surgery isn't and shouldn't be required for someone to be considered as transitioned), was just…

Its subjective isn't it. Various injuries can cause severe long lasting mental and physical health conditions that don't quite meet the threshold for NHS treatment so the person goes private for elective etc. So to that individual, an elective operation…

What would your approach be for any other elective surgery that may use up the usual sickness entitlement? (I say elective as surgery/medication etc. is widely accepted now to not be required to fully transition)

I think I'd start from there?

    Thinking…

I have something like this, I tend to overthink/overcomplicate things because sometimes, I can't believe that I'm actually being asked to do something fairly straightforward! this is a bit of a hang up from working with a manager who would task me with…

Hi Keith, sorry I should have been a bit clearer - white privilege etc I definitely understand what these mean and referred to them on another thread, and Im not uncomfortable at all with that phrase as I do appreciate it exists (broadly IMO) and indeed…

I've been reading this thread with great interest, intrigue, sharp intakes of breath, agreement with points, total disagreement with others (at times from the same person) and I admit discomfort at some of the phrases used in the context they have been…

I'm on a few other general chat forums and obviously this is the main topic currently. It may be the demographics who use them (one of the forums is pretty notorious for being a bit of a snake pit to be fair) but when someone does seem to be genuinely…

To throw another opinion out there - and I am aware its only one person and anecdotal (but aren't most of our experiences that shape our approach to things?!) - funnily enough a friend of mine who is from a BAME background asked me for some HR advice…
