Perhaps even more telling, just 6% of those who had suffered…

There was a recent survey which showed that very few people knew what their bereavement entitlement is
We wrote an article yesterday saying that in these times it is well worth publicising it (rather than hiding it away n the Employee handbook)

I did not want to go there with GDPR!

I suppose I can lock my office (it is outside) but the idea of a separate locked room is IMHO a bit OTT for all but a few. I am trying not to think about what my wife would have said to a separate locked room!

I am surprised that no-one has addressed the issue of the plan to dismiss on capability grounds if he does not recover. His job will still be redundant. You are just postponing it

This is a much bigger issue than the way you are approaching it.

How are you going to ensure good communication, teamwork and good work?
You may want 2 or 3 but they can still make flexible working requests.

    Two standards way
    Absence as a percentage
Absence expressed as number of days off
There are no rules about how to do it but the rising number of part-timers means that is becomes more complicated.

In a previous job absence levels went up by 0.1% when…

Not naive but the Tribunal system is creaking and mistakes will be made

I think you should get a different judge at the IR hearing and they need persuading that IR would be inappropriate
It is worth getting professional advice as the purpose of IR is…

Just one colleague doing it in a small team. She does not work Fridays so I have difficulty getting Fridays off.
Not a big moan but an indicator of the issues that can arise
    It may be less family-friendly
