CIPD hires Brad Taylor as Head of People

The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, has appointed Brad Taylor as its Head of People.

Brad Taylor brings with him extensive experience from previous roles across people strategy, organisational development, and culture and performance management. He was previously director of HR and workplace performance with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), where he led the organisation’s move to its new working environment in the City of London in 2015. Prior to that, he had nearly 20 years of experience in Barclays Plc in a variety of HR and non-HR roles.

Brad Taylor, Head of People at the CIPD, commented: “I’m extremely excited to join the CIPD at a time when the focus on the value of talent in organisations has never been greater. Businesses around the world are reaching out for modern, innovative ways of maintaining a healthy, engaged and high-performing workforce, and the CIPD plays a crucial role in championing better people management practices. I look forward to working with my colleagues in HR to enable the CIPD to deliver those principles both here, and for the members we work with on a day-to-day basis.”

In his new role at the CIPD, Brad will be focused on developing the organisation’s own people strategy to ensure that it attracts, develops and retains great talent to enable delivery of its mission and vision.

Laura Harrison, Director of People and Strategy, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Brad on board. Hiring someone with his wealth of knowledge and experience reinforces our commitment to our staff, and we know he is as committed as we are to achieving the CIPD’s purpose to champion better work and working lives, starting with our own people.”
