The survey offers useful insights for policymakers interested in increasing labour market access, inclusion and social mobility and for employers seeking to understand the HR and people management approaches that support progression and career development of different groups.
The report, Employee Outlook: focus on skills and careers, revealed that a third of UK employees are disappointed with their career progression, with poor quality careers advice at school and poor line management at work to blame. The report also considers social mobility, and found a number of factors that disproportionately hold back people from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
