Welcome to our branch area
A very warm welcome to the CIPD Black Country Branch website.
Our purpose is to promote and champion the objectives of the CIPD and act as a channel to ensure that local CIPD members are given opportunities to continue with their professional development, remain up to date with current HR issues and network with colleagues across the region. We are also keen to promote and grow the profession and have strong links with local colleges and universities delivering CIPD qualifications.
We have over 2,000 members in our branch. We believe you can benefit most from your membership by joining us for branch activities, and attending our events. We’re working hard to continue to provide a comprehensive programme of events for members, enabling us to share the benefit and expertise of a range of speakers and leaders in our profession. Details of all our events are listed on Eventbrite where you can book your tickets.
We currently have a Reward Special interest group, and are looking to put together an Independents group soon.
We would welcome your feedback on past events and also suggestions for any future events that you would like to see.
I look forward to hearing from you, and meeting you at one of the events.

Learn about our branch
We're a lively and energetic branch, run by a diverse group of volunteers from a variety of HR and L&D backgrounds. We aim to provide support for all grades of CIPD membership, from students through to Chartered Fellows. In addition, we aim to encourage young people to consider a career in the people profession.
The primary purpose of our branch is to act as a channel for member and potential member engagement at a local level, in accordance with the CIPD’s strategic priorities and in support of its purpose. We Champion Better Work and Working Lives by encouraging local networks for practitioners, building capability, gaining new members and running a varied programme of events throughout the year. We aim to ensure these events inspire and develop professionals in the workplace, whatever their membership status.
We're looking for volunteers to join the branch committee to continue to take the branch forward, to raise our profile locally and help deliver a diverse range of events for our members.
If you're interested in finding out more, come along to one of our events and speak with one of our committee members. There will either be opportunities available immediately, or we may ask you to join our waiting list so that we can contact you when a role becomes available that matches your skills.
