We are a lively and energetic branch, run by a diverse group of volunteers from a variety of HR backgrounds. We aim to provide support for all grades of membership, from students through to Fellows of the CIPD. In addition, we aim to encourage young people to consider a career in HR, Leadership and Development. We run a varied programme of events throughout the year, and ensure these inspire and develop professionals in the workplace, whatever their membership status.
Our branch works in collaboration with a range of stakeholders to support research, events and share local intelligence. These include: West Midlands Professional Institute of Networks (WMPINs), Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, University of Wolverhampton, Birmingham City University, City College Wolverhampton, Walsall College, BMET College, Dudley College, Engage for Success and Inspire the future.
Joining us, whether by coming to our events or taking on a role on the committee, will expand your network of fellow professionals both locally and nationally.
Our committee is dedicated, hardworking and committed to making the branch a member-driven success. Our core values are our commitment to personal growth for ourselves and our members, creativity and a strategic approach to running events - based on the HR profession map, support and development and the need to be broadminded and inclusive.
Whatever your career stage, from Student to Fellow, you can benefit from the membership of the branch and of the CIPD.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
Special Interest Groups
We have set up a number of special interest groups (SIGs), where individuals facing similar issues and challenges can come together to share best practice and support each other.
We are currently looking to develop the following groups:
- HR independents
- Talent management
If any of these areas interest you then please contact the branch.
We are also a part of the Midlands Area Partnership (MAP), a regional group of eight branches in the Midlands area which combine to cover 15,000 CIPD members. The group aims to promote the CIPD purpose throughout the Midlands region by sharing best practice, improving links between the individual branches and providing networking opportunities for all our members.
