Welcome to our branch area

Welcome to Chiltern Branch. We are open to CIPD members based in the Chiltern area as well as local business professionals and anyone interested in championing better working and working lives.

Whether you are a student new to HR, a long-established practitioner, or somewhere in between, we welcome you to join us at our events. We offer you opportunities to network, learn, and share, amongst a diverse group of people, invited speakers, and much more.

Learn about our branch

Our branch covers those with a base (work or home) in the following postcode areas:

Aylesbury: HP17-HP22 and HP27

Beaconsfield: SL7 and SL8

High Wycombe: HP5–HP16

If you're a CIPD member visiting from outside the branch area or interested in a particular event, we invite you to join us.

Chiltern Branch endeavours to deliver a variety of events covering a broad range of topics. Our aim is to run networking events that offer excellent opportunities for every member at every level to maintain up to date practice. If you attend branch meetings and programmed events, we can help you improve your personal and professional skills as well as giving you the chance to engage with other HR professionals for support and networking.

From directors to students, we have established links with businesses in the local area as well as the major CIPD course providers (Amersham and Wycombe College, Aylesbury College and Buckinghamshire New University).

Get involved

As a committee we believe that you can benefit most from your membership by being actively involved in branch activities. This may be through attending events, contributing to our newsletters, participating in our on-line discussions or by joining our branch committee. Whatever level of involvement you can offer, we have no doubt you will find it both valuable and enjoyable.

We are keen to support the development of further special interest groups. Please let us know if there is an area that you would like to explore with us. Areas currently under consideration include:

  • meeting Chartered Members’ needs
  • meeting students’ needs
  • coaching

You can contact the branch by email.

HR networking and sharing experiences discussion group

On the first Wednesday of each month, we run our HR networking and sharing experiences discussion group. This is open to all, but particularly to sole HR practitioners who do not have as many opportunities to network and share with work colleagues.

Upcoming events

You can find out about forthcoming events, local news and information through our regular newsletter or on Eventbrite where you can also register for events.

We send a limited number of emails to branch members about forthcoming events. To ensure that you receive these, please review your subscription options in ‘My Profile’ area of the CIPD website.

Stay connected

The committee is always pleased to listen to our members views and welcomes you to any events that you wish to attend.

We are keen to ensure that our branch programme remains up to date and relevant to you. Please do keep in touch with us and let us have your comments about any past events, and even better, suggestions for future events. We look forward to hearing from you and meeting you.

If you want to increase your networking opportunities, work with like-minded HR professionals and have some fun along the way then join our LinkedIn group.
