Welcome to our branch area
A warm welcome to the CIPD Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Branch. Our purpose is to promote and champion the objectives of the CIPD and act as a channel to ensure that local CIPD members are given opportunities to continue with their professional development, remain up to date with current HR issues and network with colleagues across the region.
We're an active branch with over 3,000 members. We believe you can benefit most from your membership by being actively involved with the branch activities.
This may be through attending events, contributing to our newsletters, participating in our on-line discussions or if you're interested in having direct involvement in our branch joining our branch committee. Whatever level of involvement you are able to provide, have no doubt you'll find it valuable and enjoyable.

Learn about our branch
Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are very diverse areas, we're a large branch which aims to cater for its member geographically across the region. We continue to work hard to provide a diverse and comprehensive programme of events for members, enabling us to share the benefit and expertise of a range of high-profile speakers and leaders in our profession.
We're always looking for new volunteers to join our well established and friendly committee, to raise our profile and support the running of our annual events programme.
If you're interested in finding out more do come along to one of our events and talk to one of the team. We may have immediate opportunities, or we may ask you to join our mailing list so that we can contact you when an opportunity becomes available that matches your skills. Either way we’ll ask you to complete short form, so we can find out more about you and the skills you have to offer.
Mentoring and coaching scheme
The branch currently operates a mentoring and coaching scheme, comprising trained HR mentors and coaches who have volunteered to support other members within the branch. The aim of our scheme is to provide members at whatever level and stage in their career with support and guidance from a more experienced HR practitioner for approximately six months.
The branch is keen to offer help to members, whether they're currently studying a CIPD qualification, or are an experienced HR practitioner. Do you need support and help with a project or assignment? Are you looking for your first HR job role or a change in role? Perhaps you're thinking of moving from an operational to a strategic HR role, or simply need support with upgrading your level of membership.
If you're looking for a mentor/coach or are interested in becoming one of our volunteer mentors or coaches then we would like to hear from you.
Details about our forthcoming workshops can be found on our events page. Further information about our scheme and application forms are available below.
