A warm welcome to the East London and Docklands branch webpage, where below you can register for our upcoming branch events and learn more about our committee and core aims. We are a diverse and inclusive committee and welcome ideas for future events and requests to join the committee.
Our core aim is to provide a comprehensive programme of events tailored for our branch members in the East London and Docklands area. As such we recognise the broad range of people management priorities amongst this diverse business community. We aim to ensure that events are designed in an inclusive and participatory manner and that our programme is flexible to ensure we address the most pressing HR issues of our time. Another key aim is to ensure events have a series of practical takeaways and people professionals can embed key insights into their organisations.
On behalf of the committee, we look forward to meeting you at upcoming events and please do share your ideas and feedback for events and branch activities.

The East London and Docklands branch geographically covers some of the most diverse and dynamic business communities in the UK. Covering the Stratford area and the fast-paced developments at the 2012 Olympic Park, through to the ongoing developments in the Docklands and Royal Docks areas close to the Thames. Our branch members work in people roles for some of the largest organisations in the world, through to start-ups and thriving family and small businesses. The region also has several academic CIPD centres offering all levels of CIPD qualifications. The branch works closely with the universities, colleges and independent qualification providers in the region, and we seek to support our strong CIPD Student Membership base through tailored branch activities.
We would love to hear from you if you would like to join the committee, become a friend of the committee or have an idea for a branch event.
You can contact us here and we look forward to hearing from you.
Our branch has one special interest group called managing workplace conflict and building restorative practices. This is an inclusive community of individuals in the region committed to improving the way in which organisations and the HR profession supports how conflict is managed in organisations, for the enhanced wellbeing of individuals and the wider health of organisations.
The group is made up of employee relations specialists, HR managers, internal and external mediators and those with a responsibility for managing workplace conflict. Do contact us to learn more about our SIG and if you would like to contribute ideas for this group. Our SIG events are included in the branch Eventbrite registration page.
We are also a part of CIPD London – a collaboration between seven regional branches – and we are working together to strengthen the links between all our branches, draw on our collective expertise and contacts, and create and promote a London-wide events programme. So no matter which CIPD London branch you belong to you are welcome to attend events across the capital.
