Welcome to the Isle of Man Branch of the CIPD.
Firstly, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, I’m Clare Conie and I’m the Chair of the Isle of Man Branch and I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. I’m a committed and experienced HR professional having spent 30 years working in our profession for several organisations. I currently work as the Executive Director of the Office of Human Resources within Cabinet Office in the Isle of Man Government.
Our committee is made up of volunteers who work hard to organise interesting and relevant events to enhance your continuing professional development and raise the profile of the HR community on the Isle of Man.
We are really keen to involve everyone and make them feel welcome at our events. All our events are open to non-members and members alike.
Clare Conie, Chartered FCIPD
Branch Chair
Our branch is made up of a diverse range of HR professionals working across the public, private and third sectors so we have a vast array of skills and experiences to share.
We want to have a people focused, friendly branch which represents and supports the unique island community we are working in.
Previously we have delivered a variety of events including subjects such as full day conferences including 'High Performing HR Driving High Performing Organisations' with a variety of external speakers discussing areas such as coaching, stress awareness, equality and the impact that HR can positively have within high performing organisations. We also hold lunch time events and include a variety of subject including changes in the General Data Protection Regulations and its impact to HR practitioners, the impact of VUCA, mock Employment Tribunals and the Equality Act.
We're working towards being more proactive in providing input into public policy agendas which affect our working lives.
If you’re a CIPD member and would like to get more involved with the branch, whether it be support for the committee, delivering an event, suggesting a topic to cover, inviting new members or organising our Christmas social (we love a social), please get in touch.
