The ten northern England branches cover between them an area from the Scottish border down to Cheshire in the West and South Yorkshire in the East.

Our purpose is to share best practice, support branch chairs and committees in meeting their objectives and provide a voice and wider debate on the CIPD national agenda and its implementation.

The NAP committee includes representatives from each branch (usually the Chair). A key aim of the partnership is to facilitate high quality networking and CPD opportunities across the north and we achieve this through our regular meetings, an annual development day for all committee members and our annual conference.

NAP conference and branch events

Each year NAP holds a two-day conference in York during June. This is open to all CIPD members and anyone else with an interest in championing better work and working lives. It has grown in size and reputation each year, welcoming delegates and speakers from right across the UK and even further afield. This year’s theme is ‘Even More Amazing Workplaces’ and we hope you will enjoy the exciting programme we have put together.

The ten NAP branches offer a wide range of high quality events to support members at all stages of their career and CPD needs.

Face-to-face upgrading events

In addition to upgrading by telephone assessment or application form, eligible Associate Members and Chartered Members can also upgrade to Chartered Member or Chartered Fellow by face-to-face assessment, subject to meeting the criteria. We shall be hosting face-to-face upgrading events in the NAP area over the coming year.

Support for students and centres

We are committed to supporting students and CIPD centres by enhancing the learning experience for those undertaking professional qualifications and demonstrating the benefits of CIPD membership.

A Student Conference, the first of its kind in the NAP area, took place on 3 November 2015 at Manchester Central and we are making plans for another one.
