The ten northern England branches cover between them an area from the Scottish border down to Cheshire in the West and South Yorkshire in the East.
Our purpose is to share best practice, support branch chairs and committees in meeting their objectives and provide a voice and wider debate on the CIPD national agenda and its implementation.
The NAP committee includes representatives from each branch (usually the Chair). A key aim of the partnership is to facilitate high quality networking and CPD opportunities across the north and we achieve this through our regular meetings, an annual development day for all committee members and our annual conference.

- Consider why it is now more important than ever before to put the 'human' back into 'human resources'
- Learn, connect and engage with ideas and fellow professionals about the role of HR in creating The Human Workplace
- Hear from industry experts discussing practical ways of bringing humanity into our work practices and the entire employee lifecycle.
We hope you can join us at the CIPD Northern Area Partnership Conference
Help with upgrading
NAP are not able to offer upgrading events, but each branch should have a committee member leading on membership engagement. They will have a good understanding of all routes to CIPD membership, and how to progress. If you are particularly interested in understanding how to upgrade to Chartered levels of membership our excellent web pages explain the steps involved that start with checking for suitability and then sending your CV for screening. Branch Membership Engagement leads in our NAP branches may be able to help with you CV guidance. The web pages also fully explain the assessment processes available for upgrading and the fees payable.
