Welcome to CIPD North
With over 26,000 members covering the breath of the northern Region, the CIPD is committed to ensuring that we give this region 'voice and recognition' and that we reflect the needs of our members across the North. This includes working closely with HR leaders, employers and policy makers to enable and collaborate on fulfilling our purpose 'championing better work and working lives' in the North.
The team work collaboratively with the 10 northern branches which form the Northern Area Partnership. Our branch volunteers are made up of HR leaders, practitioners, consultants and academics from across all sectors, representing the best in people practice across our region. Together in partnership, we shape our regional flagship conferences, identify pan northern region opportunities and the local branches’ committee act as an advisory board to ensure everything we do is regionally relevant and impactful.

What we do
Engaging on policy
We consult and engage with policymakers on workplace practices by sharing our insight and analysis on national and regional labour markets. This includes engaging with stakeholders on the policy agenda and regional specific issues to put the CIPD's vision of 'championing better work and working lives' at the heart of the HR, business and policy conversations. Our recent work includes working in partnership with Manchester Combined Authority and Liverpool City Region on their ambitions to raise good employment standards.
Working with our Members, Networks & Communities
