The CIPD’s purpose to champion better work and working lives sits at the heart of everything we do. Our focus is to equip our members to drive real and lasting change in their organisations and make work better for everyone. Whether that’s focusing on wellbeing, diversifying your workforce or making sure everyone is recognised and rewarded effectively.
Our members are doing everything from changing the way they engage with young people in their area, to supporting charities and small businesses with no HR function.
It's been a rewarding experience and beneficial to both parties, as it supports my own professional development as well as helping the charity meet its HR needs. I was able to be a sounding board to the mentee which greatly improved her self-confidence and in turn, she was able to implement her initiatives. This programme has reignited the value of mentoring and has taught me not to underestimate my HR knowledge and expertise, and the difference it makes to other organisations. Giving back has been so fulfilling.
