Get the most from your membership by ensuring your profile and preference settings are up to date
You may sometimes be asked for proof of CIPD membership when meeting an employer or client or when attending events, but you no longer need a membership card to show you’re a CIPD member.
We’re making membership more sustainable
We're moving to more sustainable ways to demonstrate membership: in 2019 we were one of the first membership organisations to move to a 100% plastic-free membership card, made from FSC accredited cardboard that is 100% recyclable and compostable. We also launched a digital card on the CIPD Community app. We're exploring other solutions for the future, such as digital badging.
Locate your membership number
In order to receive member discounts on CIPD training, events or publications you may be asked for your membership number. This can be easily found by logging into MyProfile. Your membership number is available in the top right-hand corner.
You'll need to have registered for a CIPD web account to access MyProfile. If you’re unsure or have trouble logging in, check the troubleshooting tips.
You can also find your membership number on your digital membership card.
Get your digital membership card
The most sustainable way to demonstrate proof of membership is to use your digital membership card, which you'll find on the CIPD Community app.
You can download the app from the Apple App store and Google Play store:
Log into the app using the same email address and password as your CIPD online account. Once in the app, you can access your digital membership card by clicking on the top left menu bars and selecting 'Membership Card'.
Use the membership verification tool
If you're a recruiter, employer or client looking for verification of someone’s CIPD membership status you can now search quickly and easily online to confirm that someone is in active membership in the current membership year.

Request a physical membership card
If you do still require a physical membership card, you can request one by calling our Customer Services team on +44 (0)20 8612 6208.
Our membership card is plastic-free. It's made from paper board that is FSC certified, 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Request a replacement membership certificate
If you can’t find your membership certificate, you can request a replacement by calling our Customer Services team on +44 (0)20 8612 6208. Please note the cost of a replacement membership certificate is £30.00.
If you’ve recently successfully completed a qualification or Experience Assessment and haven’t yet received your membership certificate, please give it a few weeks. You’ll typically receive your membership certificate within 4-6 weeks.
Membership expiry date
Our membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June. All members are invited to renew their membership by 1 July.
Members joining between January and June have the opportunity to pay for membership to 1 July of the following year.
