The CIPD and The Careers & Enterprise Company win Best Association Partnership award

For their work on the Enterprise Adviser program, the CIPD and CEC are recognised at the Association Excellence Awards

The CIPD and The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) have won the Best Association Partnership or Collaboration at the Association Excellence Awards. These awards recognise and reward the hard-won achievements of trade bodies, professional membership organisations and associations.

The award was granted for the on-going work on the Enterprise Adviser Programme. Since 2016, the CIPD, working in partnership with the Careers & Enterprise Company, has recruited more than 1000 volunteers from the HR community for the Enterprise Adviser programme.

Now made up of more than 2,300 volunteers, the Enterprise Adviser Network – senior level volunteers from the world of business – work with leadership teams in schools and colleges across England to help them understand the local labour market and develop a whole school careers education strategy.

In commenting on the work of the partnership, the judging panel described it as being ‘innovative and successful with sustained success’. They continued: ‘CIPD and CEC have clearly invested in the practical implementation and sustaining of the collaboration. This collaboration demonstrates a depth of commitment to the aims of both CIPD and CEC to advance better work and better working lives.’

Peter Cheese, Chief Executive of the CIPD, commented:

‘I am very proud of our partnership with the Careers and Enterprise Company and our members who volunteer as Enterprise Advisers to support schools across UK - it is brilliant to have this recognition. Through our membership we have connected over 1,000 senior level people professionals who are directly influencing senior leadership teams in secondary schools to create better careers support for young people.

‘The partnership clearly supports our mission to champion better work and working lives and makes a positive contribution to building links between education and employers. This is a great achievement and exemplifies the positive contribution HR professionals can make to young people thinking about their futures.’
