The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, and the CIPD have signed an agreement to collaborate in enhancing the capability and expertise of ADNOC’s HR staff. The agreement is in support of ADNOC’s 2030 strategy to develop a highly skilled world-class workforce and recognises the crucial role that people professionals play in shaping this.

The agreement was signed in a ceremony at ADNOC headquarters by Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Director of the Human Capital and Administration Directorate at ADNOC, and Peter Cheese, Chief Executive of the CIPD.

The agreement enables ADNOC and the CIPD to work together in partnership in several areas, including the use of the CIPD Professional Standards, CIPD qualifications and human capital career pathways. It will also include the design and delivery of CIPD continuous professional development (CPD) clinics that will enable ADNOC’s HR team to be developed in line with international professional standards.

Commenting on the partnership, Al Mazrouei said: ‘This agreement reaffirms ADNOC’s unwavering commitment to the development of our people – ADNOC’s most valuable assets. It represents further investment in programmes to accelerate the growth of ADNOC talent and helps create opportunities for our human resources team to fulfil its professional potential.’

Peter Cheese said: ‘The CIPD is pleased to enter this agreement with ADNOC. We look forward to bringing our experience and programs to help ADNOC build a professional and capable HR function to support the organisation and its people for the future.’

The agreement with ADNOC is the latest development from the CIPD’s Middle East office in Dubai.

The CIPD now has more than 3,000 members in Middle East and is continuously forging new connections with employers and government organisations in the region, helping them professionalise their HR teams.
